10 Reasons Why SEO is Like an Addiction Treatment Program – Reason #6: There May Be Frustration
Despite a client’s best efforts, he or she may suffer a relapse. Relapse can happen no matter how excellent the treatment program may be. There may be frustration and this can cause many clients to lose hope in the program and themselves. This can cause them to abandon their efforts toward recovery.
As you know, a client absolutely cannot give up. If they give up at this point, all of their hard work will go to waste and they won’t have a strong chance for recovery outside of the facility. It’s your job to support and inspire them to keep moving forward despite the frustration and setbacks.
Don’t Lose Hope
No rehab center wants to see patients abandon their endeavors towards recovery. When a client begins losing hope and starts saying that they want to give up, you start telling them how these things happen and that it’s all part of the recovery process.
Similarly, SEO strategies can fail or take a while to show results. Just like the patient you encouraged to keep going, this setback is not a good reason to give up and abandon your efforts. Like addiction therapy, it may be time to reassess the strategy to determine if there are changes that can increase effectiveness.
Maybe you need stronger content or linking. Maybe you’re targeting or appealing to the wrong audience. It takes time to find the perfect formula that makes a successful program. In the end, minor tweaks could be what makes all the difference.
Remember that there are many rehab centers out there trying to do exactly what you’re doing. There’s a lot of competition out there and some companies come out of the starting gate with a huge advantage. Sometimes no matter what you do, they’ll always come out ahead despite the efforts of you and your marketing company. But, don’t get frustrated.
Success looks different for everyone. Recognizing the small successes you make and understanding that there’s no equal playing ground when it comes to SEO campaigns can help you reevaluate your frustration. Take that frustration and turn it into motivation towards success.
